Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s Kansas City Metropolitan Graduate Chapter hosts an event to honor Swope Health: A Trauma-Informed Care Program Making a Positive Difference in the Community.
In Mental Health Awareness month, this program focuses on using collective efforts to fight stigma and raise awareness related to depression, anxiety, and trauma. The event features a panel discussion with Penny Rice, addiction therapist; Breora Page, school-based therapist; and Swope Health’s Carla Lee, youth behavioral health liaison. The panel is moderated by Sylvya Stevenson, founder/president of National Congress of Black Women-KC.
