Swope Health is again proud to support the annual Juneteenth KC Heritage Festival, Saturday, June 21, in the 18th and Vine Historic Jazz District.
The 14th Annual JuneteenthKC Heritage Festival expects to welcome more than 25,000 visitors to the 18th & Vine Historic Jazz District in honor of Juneteenth – commemorating the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in the United States learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
The day-long event features musical performances on the main stage, a carnival, and a kids’ zone with face painters, pony rides, balloon artists and more. Food and entertainment are available all day.
