Family Medicine Residency Program
A Look into Our Program
Welcome Letter
Dear Future Colleagues,
Thank you for your interest in the Swope Health Family Medicine Residency Program. It is my honor to invite you to consider joining a community rooted in purpose, service, and the belief that family medicine is both a calling and a commitment.
As Program Director, my personal vision is to cultivate a learning environment where residents are supported, challenged, and empowered to become compassionate, skilled, and courageous physicians—leaders who care deeply for patients, advocate for communities, and approach medicine with humility and integrity.
My mission is to train family physicians who are clinically excellent, community‑engaged, and prepared to meet the evolving needs of the people they serve.
“Our residency exists because of the trust placed in us by our patients and the community.”
We are deeply grateful to those who allow us to walk alongside them in moments of healing, vulnerability, and hope. Their stories shape our learning, ground our purpose, and remind us daily why this work matters. We are equally thankful for our community partners—past, present, and future—whose collaboration strengthens our program and expands our collective impact.
Family medicine is built on relationships. Here, you will find a program that values teamwork, reflection, and service; a place where your growth as a physician is matched by your growth as a human being. We are committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where residents are seen, heard, and prepared to thrive—both in residency and beyond.
As we prepare to welcome our inaugural residents, we do so with excitement, intention, and gratitude. We look forward to applicants who are curious, compassionate, resilient, and committed to caring for individuals, families, and communities across the lifespan.
Thank you for considering our program. We would be honored to review your application and to partner with you on this meaningful journey in family medicine.
With appreciation and anticipation,
